joseph was born on the 29/8/1921 the 4th child of nine born to felicia and ernest mcewen he grew up in the east end of london where he was to eventually meet frances torrance whom he married on the 24th april 1943 aged 21 and 19 they had their first child in the october of 1944 followed 5years later by twin daughters sadly one passed away at birth but they had 9 wonderful years with gillian who sadly passed away in 1959 in 1954 they had a son peter in 1962 their first grandchild was born teresa(terri)whom they brought up as their daughter followed over the years by other grandchildren.they had their ups and downs but were a devoted couple enjoying their family and life together over the years their family grew to include 7 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren,2 great great grandchildren and 8 great great great granchildren seeing 5 generations of family sadly on the 19/5/2003 joseph passed away leaving frances and the family heartbroken. frances survived joe for 8 years sadly passing away in her sleep to be reunited with joe
